Guidelines and Information

What we publish

We publish fiction, nonfiction and poetry books for children that are wonderfully and magically illustrated. We prefer Beginning, Elementary, and Middle Readers.

We respect authors who thoroughly understand the specific criteria for Beginning, Elementary, and Middle Reader books.

We will also be publishing bilingual books (Spanish/English) because there is a huge need for them in our schools.

See FAQ for more information.

How to submit a book

Query letter with a proposal, synopsis, description of illustrations, and author/illustrator bio will be a good beginning.

Please provide a paragraph of how you are prepared to market your book.

Yes, spelling and grammar count.

Email in the body of the message only - no attachments.

Want one of our Authors to visit your school?

Our authors would LOVE to visit your school and talk about their book. They will also have copies of their books to sell. Each author who is available to speak to your students will present you with their background check. We keep children safe. Contact the publisher on contact page to set up book events.

Book Already Self-Published?

Gingersnap Press does not re-publish books. Please do not send a query about books that have already been published.

What We Offer

Gingersnap Press offers above industry-standard royalties, plus provides 10 copies of the book to the author in place of a monetary advance. We publish in child-friendly-size trade paperback and e-book.

We distribute internationally.

Our books are available through Amazon, Books-a-Million, Barnes & Noble and many other fine book stores.
